Before geometry review
Measure your mounting area
Use a rigid metric ruler or tape and record measurements within 1 mm. Do not drill until you receive the final template and fastener plan.
- Mark the intended center of the sculpture and the readable shadow area.
- Measure clear wall width from each sculpture edge to the nearest obstacle. Anchor clearance is measured to the nearest edge of the wall pad, not its center.
- Measure clear height above and below the sculpture. Positive vertical offset places pads above it; negative offset places them below it.
- Measure the maximum distance the sculpture and light may project from the wall.
- Note the wall material, approximate thickness, known stud locations, trim, outlets, frames, and doors.
- Photograph the wall straight on with a metric ruler visible, then take one photo from each side.
Bring these values to review: sculpture width, left and right edge clearance, clearance above and below, maximum wall projection, wall material, and obstacles.
